Design review and process assessment: Al-Remal compound MBBR STP (1,200 CMD)

Project NameDesign review and process assessment: Al-Remal compound MBBR STP (1,200 CMD)
Client NameKGP Engineering - Consulting Engineers
LocationAl-Riyadh, KSA

The objective of the project was to perform a thorough design review and evaluate the operational performance of the Sewage Treatment Plant in Al-Remal City, Al-Riyadh. The evaluation focused on two critical aspects:

  1. Liquid Stream Assessment:

    • Analyzing the efficiency and effectiveness of wastewater treatment processes, including primary, secondary, and tertiary treatment stages.
    • Ensuring compliance with environmental and regulatory standards for effluent quality.
    • Identifying bottlenecks, inefficiencies, or areas for optimization within the liquid treatment flow.
  2. Sludge Stream Assessment:

    • Examining the treatment, stabilization, and disposal methods for sludge generated during the wastewater treatment process.
    • Evaluating the performance of sludge handling facilities, such as thickening, dewatering, and digestion units.
    • Assessing the potential for resource recovery (e.g., biogas generation) and ensuring sustainable sludge management practices.

The project aimed to ensure the plant’s overall performance met design expectations, aligned with best practices, and supported long-term operational sustainability.
